We made a last minute decision to go down to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World on Leap day to celebrate the theme park being open for 24 hours for the One More Disney Day event. We arrived at the park around 4:30PM and met a friend in the theme park. We spent some time on the Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom game (an interactive game attraction for the Magic Kingdom that debuted on February 22, 2012), rode some rides and saw some attractions (Enchanted Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Swiss Family Robinson), and saw the theme park fireworks.
We left the theme park around 10PM and were almost stopped from leaving! At this point, the other 4 Disney theme parks had closed and EVERYONE was coming over to the Magic Kingdom to celebrate One More Disney Day. So many people were moving up Main Street, U.S.A into the park that almost no one could move towards the exit. We did manage to find a path, but we heard from our friend (that stayed in the park a while longer) that Disney had to open an alternate exit for people wishing to leave the Magic Kingdom!!
We would have liked to stay until sunrise and see the sun come up over Cinderella’s castle, but school and kids prevailed and we headed home for a few hours of sleep. We saw pics from the morning and it was foggy, anyway. 🙂
