Portobello Country Italian Trattoria Closed; Reopening as Terralina Crafted Italian this Fall
A multi-milliondollar makeover is transforming the space formerly known as Portobello Country Italian Trattoria. Terralina Crafted Italian is anticipated to open this fall at Disney Springs in its place. James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano returns from Portobello to curate the new menu, and Chef Justin Plank will be back to run the kitchen, including artisanal pizzas and fresh vegetable dishes fired up in a wood-burning oven.
Two new signatures – mussels and a grilled pork chop – will be on the menu, along with favorites from Portobello such as the antipasti platter and signature pastas. Terralina will be open for lunch and dinner. Opening dates have not yet been announced.
BaseLine Tap House Will Be Part of New Grand Ave Area
A new Grand Avenue area is being created at Disney’s Hollywood Studios by Walt Disney Imagineering. It’s designed to capture the spirit of present-day Downtown Los Angeles, showing vintage office buildings and warehouses representing the different vibrant districts and cultures of the city. One prominent hot spot to spring up is the BaseLine Tap House, a cheerful corner pub specializing in beer and wines from California.
California craft ales, lagers and cider are the stars of the drink menu. California wines are on tap and specialty cocktails are offered. A gourmet non-alcoholic lemonade and soda on tap round out the drink selection. Small bites, including a Bavarian pretzel with mustard and beer-cheese fondue, spiced almonds or a charcuterie board featuring California cheeses are also planned.
