We are always traveling, but we tend to get in a travel rut! That travel rut is Central Florida. The kids love the Theme Parks and Activities in Central Florida, so we tend to spend a lot of time at this destination. However, this year I am planning early for 2016. Most of the time we book our travel a few days before we leave. By planning farther in advance, I am hoping we will be able to visit some new destinations for the Jones Family in 2016.
#6 – Stay in a Caboose
I love the book series called the Boxcar Children! I read all of the books as a kid. I am just now getting our kids interested in these books. Did you know select KOA campgrounds have boxcars and cabooses that you can rent? This is something I have been wanting to do for about 3 years. This year, we are doing it!
#5 – Spend a Month in Costa Rica or Hawaii
When we started homeschooling our kids, we decided we would spend a month in either Costa Rica or Hawaii. These are two of our favorite places and we thought it would be an incredible experience for the kids. Years have gone by since we started homeschooling, but 2016 is the year we will spend a month in either Costa Rica or Hawaii. We will keep you posted what we decide!
#4 – Vacation with My Parents
My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year. My mom wanted to celebrate by having the whole family go on vacation together. We have always gone on vacation with some of the family, but never the entire group. This year we are celebrating with my parents and the whole family!
#3 – Great Wolf Lodge
Are You a VIP? Very Important Princess
Get access to our VIP Library filled with resources and fun for your next Disney vacation!
The kids have been “dying” to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge! We have a list of “future activities” at our house and the Great Wolf Lodge has been on this list for over a year. I think it is time to experience this crazy amazing hotel with indoor water park. Get ready to scream!
#2 – Go to Minnesota & See Real Snow!
I was an adult when I first saw snow! Tim grew up in Minnesota, so snow was part of his life (10 months of the year). We have wanted to take the kids back to Minnesota to meet some of his family, skate on a pond, go ice fishing, make real snow angels, make a snowman, and even go dog sledding. This is the year we are going to finally do it!
#1 – Renew our Vows at Beaches Turks & Caicos
Turks & Caicos is such a beautiful island! I visited this island about 4 years ago and loved it. I have wanted to bring the whole family back since then. One of the great options at Beaches Resort is a Vow Renewal. Since the kids did not get to see our wedding, I always thought it would be an amazing experience to have a Vow Renewal where the kids could actually be part of our special day.
I know our life is constantly changing, so these destinations may change. Stay tuned if we make them happen in 2016. Where do you want to go in 2016?
