As a parent, we are all trying to be “rock stars” for our kids. When planning a Spring Break vacation, you always want to plan a trip that even the teens will approve of. So, what does it take to rock Spring Break? We’re sharing 6 ways to do just that! Grab that air guitar and let’s get jammin’.

#6 Create Family Fun
One of the first ways to rock Spring Break is to plan some family fun. During a recent visit to Motel 6 in Cocoa Beach, our kids spent hours playing shuffleboard. As the mom, I loved it! They were not on their
phones, but instead laughing and enjoying our family.
When packing for your getaway, pack some cards or a game. On our Spring Break trip, we packed a guitar. We spent time just playing the guitar and singing. It was truly an experience I will cherish, and I know we created memories for the kids.
#5 Fun Attractions Nearby
When booking your hotel, look into a spot with fun around you. With over 1,400 properties in North America, there are so many great Motel 6 options. You could even book a stay at Motel 6 near the beach or Disney World! There are so many amazing destinations to check out. Which one would your family love?
On our Spring Break, we booked a stay at Motel 6 on International Drive in Orlando. This is just 15 minutes from Disney World and steps from the main strip nicknamed I-Drive. There are restaurants, mini-golf, theme parks, shopping, and so much more all within walking distance. Our hotel was just steps from the fun! I could grab a free cup of coffee in the morning and then we were off on our adventures. Thank goodness for free coffee!
This certainly made me look like a rock star to the kids!

#4 Save More for Fun with Affordable Accommodations
In the Jones Family, we are a little thrifty. We prefer to spend our money on activities and food, instead of our hotel. We still want to be comfortable, but finding a good room at a great price is always top on our list – and Motel 6 does just that.
Many of their properties have renovated, modern rooms. We love these and always check into that option when booking our hotel. In our room in Orlando, the rooms had bright orange bedspreads which just beamed Florida sunshine! It was perfect for our Spring Break getaway.
You know that Motel 6 always has a great price. So, getting a renovated, comfortable room at an inexpensive price is a win-win for mom and the family.
#3 Road Trips
Wherever you go, road trips turn your vacation into an adventure. We do love the destination, but it is also the journey that creates family memories. When planning your trip, jump in the car and don’t forget the snacks. You can create an adventure just road tripping to your vacation.
Wherever you’re headed, you know Motel 6 always has hotels along the way. You can spread out your trip and experience cities along the way, or just stop if you need a break from driving. On our Spring Break getaway, we took a road trip to Orlando. It is only a few hours away, but there was still plenty of time for shenanigans! I vaguely remember a “sing off!” – Mommy won, of course!
#2 Warm Destination
To rock Spring Break, you need to pick a warm destination! After this harsh winter, I know everyone is ready to pull out their shorts and flip flops. When planning your Spring Break, it’s good to choose warmer locations for the family.
It could be a trip to a lake, the beach, or even down to sunny Florida. Escape the cold and thaw out the family with a warm destination. You will get lots of warm hugs for it!

#1 Pool Time
Yep! No doubt the #1 way to rock Spring Break is with a pool! Kids of all ages just love pools. We know everyone is ready for sunshine and pool time. When planning your Spring Break vacation, you’ll want to make sure they have a pool.
On our recent visit to Motel 6 in Orlando, we grabbed our pool float (Mr. Toucan) and spent some time just floating around soaking up the rays. It was a perfect day of just family fun! To make it even more fun, the kids shared our pool float with three little kids to spread the sunshine.
Honorable Mention
I have to add one honorable mention…bringing your four-legged friend. We love that Motel 6 is pet friendly. Even better, they do not charge any additional fees for pets. We love bringing Copper with us on our adventures. Your pet is part of your family, so bring them along on your Spring Break getaway.
There is still time to plan your Spring Break vacation. Follow our steps to successfully rock Spring Break. Where do you want to go for your Spring Break?
