As we reported last week, Universal eased pandemic restrictions with regard to temperature screening and social distancing. Disney World also announced plans to eliminate temperature screenings at a future date.

Now, Disney made subtle changes to their “Returning to a World of Magic” page regarding physical distancing.

Disney World Eases Physical Distancing Requirements

You can see in the “Physical Distancing” icon above that Disney has removed the “6ft/2m” from the arrow in the image. You can see the 6’/2m notation in this image.

When you click on the “Read More” link in the image, you will see that Disney also changed the wording for the Physical Distancing description.

Here’s the breakdown of what Disney changed:

  • Added: While we will reduce physical distancing measures for Guests across many areas with a gradual, phased approach, six-feet distancing measures will continue in all dining locations, merchandise stores and in areas where Guests can temporarily remove their masks.
  • Removed: Cars will be directed to park in every other parking space at the theme parks.

This means 6 feet of physical distance remains in places where Guests can often remove their masks, all dining locations, and in merchandise stores. Outside these select locations, it appears that something less than 6 feet/2 meters will be acceptable. No date for reduced social distancing appears on the site, rather just “a gradual, phased approach” to be followed.
