Can the Cooalla cooler compete with the big boys?

Cooalla Cooler

Dubbed as “a cooler, only cooler,” the Cooalla cooler from Sportsman Gear hopes to set itself apart from others in the high end cooler industry.

Geared towards the female user, Cooalla designed a cooler that wouldn’t be as bulky, hard to carry, and took up less space than a traditional soft-side cooler. They added a little flair to it, as well.

Starting with the exterior, the Cooalla cooler looks more like a designer purse than a rugged soft-side cooler. Don’t worry, though, they have a camo version for guys, too and both are just as rugged as other high-end soft-side coolers. In fact, we were pretty impressed with how sturdy this cooler felt when we received it in the mail.

Inside, you’ll find special micro-cell insulation that not only keeps things cold, it’s also puncture resistant. The pictures of the cooler, online, make the cooler capacity appear small, but we found it much more roomy than we expected.

You’ll also notice a nice daisy-chain on the exterior for attaching a multitude of items you may need for your trip, as well as a carabiner to attach your keychain. There’s a magnetic closure pocket, too for your phone or wallet.

Cooalla Cooler Review

Cooalla sent us a cooler to review and it just so happens that we got it, right before our Carnival Vista cruise, so we had a great trip set up to really test it out.

Allison packed a few drinks in the cooler for embarkation day and it was so nice to get to our cabin and have some nice, cool drinks to enjoy, without having to go to one of the dining locations on board the ship.

The Cooalla cooler comes with a very nice, neoprene strap for easy carrying. It was easy to carry. It was also a bit heavy. We were ready to drop it in the cabin, when we arrived. This could be said of any cooler, though when fully loaded.

We’ve since brought the cooler to the beach and to a Taylor Swift concert and it worked perfectly! Not only did it work, it looked great, too!

Cooalla Cooler on Carnival Vista

Cooalla definitely hit it out of the park on the looks. The cooler has a designer look and feel that traditional cooler manufacturers cannot compete against, especially with the female market.

Allison gives the Cooalla cooler a solid “buy” recommendation. She uses it, constantly. She even came up with a great use, for our family — when you’ve enjoyed all your drinks at the beach or on a cruise excursion, it becomes a great place to store those wet swimsuits until you get back to your cabin or home!
