No more handles on the Disney World resort refillable mugs!
Well, that’s the latest rumor, any way. So, we decided to go check it out.
After a stop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, where none of the Cast Members seemed to have any clue what we were talking about, we headed over to Saratoga Springs Resort (we had heard that they had them, for sure).
Sure enough, no more handles on the resort refillable mugs!
We chatted with the Cast Member at Saratoga Springs for a bit. Apparently, the new mugs are a trial run. Disney wants feedback on mugs with no handles. The feedback is not good! Most (almost all) Disney guests prefer the mugs with handles, especially at a Disney Vacation Club property like Saratoga Springs where you could have 8 guests or more in a villa. The handle makes it possible for one person to get drinks for the whole room. Not so much without the handle.
The opposing argument goes that now, the mugs will fit in cup holders – in your car or a stroller as you you make your way around the Walt Disney World Resort.
We were told that the refillable mugs without handles were only at Disney’s Saratoga Springs in The Artist’s Palette as a test market. However, we also know of guests getting the mugs at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

What do you think of the new handle-free refillable mugs? Should they stay or should they go, now?
