With over 1,000 visits to the Disney Parks, our kids have spent a little bit of time playing at Disney World. They have set bags that they always bring to Disney World Parks with their must pack items.
We are asked weekly, what do the kids take to Disney World? We are so excited to finally share these items with YOU! We hope this helps with your 1st visit or 99th visit to Disney World.
Disney World Packing List
9 Things to Pack for Kids
#9 Ears

You are visiting Disney World and this is the place you can wear those fun Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy ears, or funny hats. Be sure you bring your favorite ears and pack them for your day of fun at the Disney World Parks.
#8 Glow Sticks
You will probably spend some time playing at the parks in the evening hours. Disney sells tons of fun glow at night stuff. However, they are all pretty expensive for glow toys. Stop by your local store and pick up some glow sticks. This will give the kids something to create, while they are waiting in lines or for a show/parade to start. Plus, it will save you some money!
#7 Pressed Pennies
If you are looking for a fun and super cheap souvenir…pressed pennies are it! We always have a bag of pennies, quarters (to pay for the pressed pennies) and even a pressed penny holder. We purchased the pressed penny holder at Disney World. This is an easy way to store them and enjoy them later.
#6 Autograph Books
You will see characters everywhere. Our kids still enjoy the autograph books, so we always have them with us. You never know when you will see a character. Be sure you also pack a black sharpie marker. These are fantastic for the autograph books and easier on the characters to autograph.
#5 Books

Kelly loves maps and books! He has several Disney World themed books that he likes to bring with him to Disney. These books do get heavy. If you want to stay light, I would suggest just one book that both kids love…that is the Hidden Mickey Guide by Steve Barrett. He is a friend of ours and the original Hidden Mickey Guy. Both kids love his book. You can purchase it before your trip, by clicking on this link.
#4 Smart Devices
Be sure you pack those cell phones or iPads. These are perfect to use the My Disney Experience App or Disney Play, while the kids are waiting in lines or for shows/parades.
#3 Download Apps
I know I mentioned My Disney Experience. This one is more for adults or the kids that like a schedule or maps (aka Kelly!) Be sure you download other apps, like Heads Up or Pokemon Go to your smart devices. These are fun family activities to do, while waiting in lines or for a show to start.
We took the kids to see Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom and had a blast playing Heads Up, while we waited for the show to start.
#2 Fuel Rods or Charging Devices
With the My Disney Experience and Disney Play app, your kids will spend a lot of time on their phones (well, playing). Don’t forget to bring charging cords and charging devices to keep those electronics charged. If you forget, you can buy Fuel Rods throughout Disney World.
#1 Your Bag, Of Course
Oh yes, we are missing the most important thing…THE BAG! Be sure you have a backpack that is comfortable for the kids to carry and limited on zippers. You will have to go through security, so keep the zippers to a nominal amount.
We hope this Disney World packing list helps you pack the kids.
