Disney continues to update their mask policy for Guests and Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort.

No Masks for Disney World Cast Members
Beginning today, June 25th, fully vaccinated Cast Members are no longer required to wear face masks when indoors at the parks and resorts. Now they have the option of wearing a mask when working indoors and outdoors.
Additionally, Disney updated another portion of their health and safety measures, effective today — PhotoPass and other Cast Members can take photos with guest phones and cameras. Previously, Disney wasn’t allowing this to reduce the risk to employees.
Mask Policy for Guests
Disney previously updated the mask policy for Guests on June 15th. Allowing fully vaccinated Guests to remove face coverings both inside and outside Disney World attractions.
Disney relies on the honor system with regard to vaccination status. They will not require proof of vaccination to remove your mask and ask that Guests that are not fully vaccinated continue to wear face coverings.
Here is the current updated policy for Guests:

While face coverings are required for all Guests while in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, they are now optional in most areas for Guests who are fully vaccinated. While we do not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation.
All face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) should:
- Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
- Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
- Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free
Face coverings should not contain valves, mesh material or holes.
Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn, in alignment with our existing rules.
Face coverings may have an integrated transparent plastic panel to aid in viewing the wearer’s mouth. These face coverings should:
- Be a fabric face covering featuring a solid plastic panel containing no openings that is attached to the fabric on all sides using tight knit stitching
- Meet all face covering requirements listed above

Essentially, guests who are not fully vaccinated are operating under Disney’s older policy which allows all guests to remove their masks in outdoor areas and pool decks but requires masks to be worn in all other circumstances.
Obviously, Disney’s face covering policies change almost daily. Stick around on the JFT Blog to keep up to date with all the changes happening at the Orlando area theme parks and travel destinations beyond!
