One of the newest resorts at Disney World is Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. This is such a fun resort filled with Disney fun!  Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has 4 different sections; including Finding Nemo, Lion King, CARS, and Little Mermaid.

I love the Finding Nemo section, because you are super close to The Big Blue. You literally step outside the building and the main pool called The Big Blue is just steps away.  The Big Blue is the main pool at Art of Animation and is the largest pool at Disney World.

It is also one the Jones Family favorites. We wanted to share why we love this pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

8 Reasons Why We Love the Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

#8 Perfect for Younger Kids

This is a great pool for the whole family. However, this pool is one of the best pools at Disney World for families with younger children. The Big Blue is a huge pool with a beach entry. There is also a splash park right next to the pool with some of the Finding Nemo and Finding Dory friends. They also have a dry playground, right next to the pool. There is just a lot of fun for little ones, all in one area.

#7 Games & Fun

Swimming in The Big Blue is always a lot of fun year round. Disney adds to the fun with added music, games, and fun. The Disney Recreation Team swings by for afternoon to host activities by the pool, including music and games. Yes, prizes too!

#6 Play & Swim

I mentioned all of the fun for little ones with a pool, splash park, and playground all together. We love that Disney’s Art of Animation has the pool and playground in one area. This way the kids can play and then hop in the pool for a swim!

#5 Drinks by the Pool

While the kids are enjoy the sunshine, you can sip on a fruity drink by the pool. The Big Blue has a pool side bar, just steps from the pool

#4 Movies Under the Stars

You do not even need to change out of your swimsuit to catch one of our favorite evening activities at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. You can pull up a chair, get a free bag of popcorn from Pop Secret, and enjoy a popular Disney movie (right by the pool).

#3 Plenty of Lounge Chairs

One of the biggest frustrations with any hotel pool is finding a lounge chair to actually enjoy the pool.  The pool area at Disney’s Art of Animation is huge, so there are plenty of lounge chairs, tables, and chairs for anyone and everyone looking to enjoy the sunshine.

#2 Underwater Surprise

One of our favorite hidden gems at The Big Blue is underwater.  You can hear Dory and the Finding Nemo characters under water!  You can hear them actually talking underwater.  My favorite is Dory!

#1 Resort Mug Refillable Station

A great value at the Disney World Resorts is the Resort Mugs. You pay one price for the mugs and you get unlimited refills during your vacation.  Most of the refillable stations are in the Food Court.  If you are enjoying a day at the pool, this can be frustrating.  You have to get dressed, put shoes on, and walk over to the Food Court.  Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is one of the few resorts that actually has a refillable mug station, right at the pool.

These are a few reasons why we love the pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Before you head out for fun, here are a few extra tips to make your day even more enjoyable.

Tip #1 If you like ping pong, bring some quarters.  You do have to buy the ping pong balls to play at the pool.

Tip #2 Bring your MagicBands or Key to the World Card (room key), because you do need these to enter the pool.

What do you think of The Big Blue pool at Disney’s Art of Animation?
