Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is one of our favorite Disney Resort hotels. Just the theming alone makes this one of our top choices. The resort has larger than life characters throughout the entire resort, themed after CARS, Finding Nemo, Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.
Our family loves walking around this resort, just getting pictures with all of the characters and art. The suites are just as amazing. We stay at this resort quite often. We have been to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort over 5 times, just this year. We share some of the best and worst about the suites at this resort.

Lion King Theme
Disney does such an amazing job of the theming! This is one of the few resorts at Disney World with characters incorporated into the rooms. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has (3) suite themes, including Lion King, Finding Nemo, and CARS. Each suite is fully themed inside the suite with touches everywhere from the Hankuna Matata words on a table in the living room to Simba hiding behind the Murphy Bed. It is fun for kids of all ages.
Murphy Bed
This room accommodates up to 6 people. The layout is amazing, even for a family of 4. The suite features a dining room area (with a drop down Murphy Bed), living room, and separate bedroom. For a family of 4, each person gets their own room. The Murphy Bed is incredible. It is a dining room table and chairs during the day. Then in the evening, you just drop it down to a bed. The kids love putting the bed up and down.
Kitchenette
The suites have a mini kitchenette area with a microwave, coffee maker, and mini refrigerator. You can pack some groceries in your luggage or order Publix Delivery. This will save you some money on your food during your vacation. You can cook a quick breakfast in the microwave, before heading off to the parks.
2 Bathrooms
With a family of 4, this is HUGE! Actually just for a couple, this is huge having your own bathroom. LOL! To make it even better, one bathroom is a split bathroom with a sink and mirror outside the bath and then a separate room for the toilet and shower. That way everyone can get ready at once and on time.

Price
Disney created Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to offer a less expensive suite option vs the Villas at the Disney Deluxe Resorts. This certainly filled a need. However, the prices for the suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort are still super expensive.
Did you know you can purchase the shower curtains from the themed rooms in the merchandise shop? You can for over $100! That is an expensive shower curtain! LOL!
The suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort are a great room for families. What do you think of this resort?
