The newest resort addition to the Walt Disney World Resort is the Gran Destino Tower. This new tower is part of the resort called Disney’s Coronado Springs. We love the Spanish theming of this beautiful Disney Resort.

6 Reasons Why We Love Gran Destino Tower

Luxury Resort for a Moderate Price Tag

The Gran Destino Tower is part of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort (which is a Disney Moderate priced hotel). The prices in the tower are a bit more expensive than the other rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, but significantly lower than the Disney Deluxe Resorts.

However, the tower and the rooms feel more like a luxury resort. Disney did an amazing job designing this new tower. Here are a few pictures from our rooms.

I know you are like me and love getting value for your money. You can take advantage of a more deluxe hotel at Disney World, at a moderate price tag!

Spectacular View of Disney World

Love, love, love the views from the Gran Destino Tower! There are many different places to enjoy the view at this tower.

My favorite was the view from our tower room. I requested a higher floor at check in. We could see the pool and all of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, right from our room. I could even look out the window to the right and see Cinderella Castle and Happily Ever After fireworks. It is an amazing view!

On another visit, we had an amazing view of Expedition Everest and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. On another visit, I would see Epcot and Spaceship Earth. I always request a higher room at check in. The higher the room, the better the view.

Besides the standard rooms, you can also upgrade to a Club Level Room. The Club Level rooms include access to the Chronos Club.

Timesaving Elevators

Let’s talk about a timesaver! You want to maximize your time at Disney World. You do not want to sit and wait for every floor to pick up people on the elevator.

Disney made your life easier! The elevators at Gran Destino are super cool, but a bit confusing. With the elevators, you push the floor you are going to. The elevator screen will then tell you which elevator to get on. Each elevator is lettered from A-G. The screen will tell you which of the elevators to get on. When the doors open, you get on the assigned elevator.

Elevators at Gran Destino Tower

We have seen these type elevators in NYC. They are amazing! They help you get to your destination faster.

I can say they are a bit confusing, if you have never seen anything like these elevators. We explained how to use the elevators to other guests, about 6 different times during our stay. However, we love them! Great timesaver!

Covered Walkway to Dining & Shopping

If is Florida, so it is either super hot or raining! LOL!

I love that Disney created a covered walkway to get from the Gran Destino Tower to the main area of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. This main area has the food court, Maya Grill, shopping, fitness center, convention center, business center, convention center, transportation to the Disney Parks, and Rix Lounge. If there is good weather, you can also walk over to Three Bridges Bar & Grill.

You can stay protected from the elements to get from one destination at the resort to another. Love it!

Service, Service, and MORE Service

I loved the service at the Gran Destino Tower. Now, I am not sure if this is going to continue or if it was for the opening of this new tower. I hope it continues. 😀

When you check in to the resort, there are Disney Cast Members lined up to assist you (with iPads). Not only will they help you check in, but they will walk you to your guest room if you are staying at the Gran Destino Tower.

My parents stayed with me on a recent visit. The Disney Cast Member helped check them in and then escorted them to the room. It was amazing! This is luxury service, but again at a Disney Moderate Resort. Win-win!

Roof Top Dining

The Gran Destino Tower has two rooftop dining locations on the 16th floor called Toledo and Dahlia Lounge. Toledo is a restaurant with Tapas or entrees like steak and seafood. Dahlia Lounge is a great spot to get a drink, along with light appetizers.

Both locations have a spectacular view of Disney World. The only other resort that has a view like this is the Disney Deluxe Resort called Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

You can dine at either restaurant or just pop up to check out the view. They have an outdoor seating area that you can walk out and enjoy the view. We could see Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the new Galaxy’s Edge from the roof.

There is also another lounge on the bottom floor. You can take the stairs from the lobby down to the Barcelona Lounge. This is another relaxing spot with an incredible view outside Gran Destino Tower. While you are enjoying a drink at this lounge, look for a Hidden Mickey.

We love that Gran Destino Tower is part of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. You have so many amenities at the tower. Plus, you have access to the resort amenities at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. This even includes one of our favorite Disney Resort pools. This pool is called the Dig Site Pool. There is a Mexican ruin with waterfall, a Jaguar themed water slide, a Dig Site and playground, volleyball, game room, and even outdoor lounge and snack bar. We love that you get two resorts in one at Gran Destino Tower.

There is so much more to love about this brand new addition to Disney World. These are our favorites! Watch our full video on YouTube to see the room tour, resort tour, and some of the fun we had at Gran Destino.

FAQ about Gran Destino Tower

We know you have a lot of question about Gran Destino Tower. Here are some of the most common FAQ we get about this new resort.
