One of my favorite trips of all time was a trip to Italy.  My brothers and I planned a trip with just the three of us, backpacking in Europe.  My older brother was in Germany at the time, so we all agreed to meet in Italy.  This was a destination on all of our bucket lists, so we decided to spend some time in Italy.  It was an amazing trip!  Italy is filled with culture, history, and beauty.  I wanted to share some of my favorite Italy pictures to inspire you.

Venice

Our trip started in Venice. I was amazed with all of the boats and canals. I knew Venice was a city of water, but was shocked how many waterways run throughout the city. Most of the hotels even offer boat transportation around the city. It is truly spectacular.

Florence

After exploring Venice for a few days, we hopped on a train to head over to Florence.  The city of Florence is filled with art museums, churches, and incredible architecture. We loved just walking the streets admiring all of the amazing buildings.

Cinque Terre

Our favorite city was a small fishing community. We stayed in a quaint hotel, (where we literally had to squeeze sideways to even get into the bathroom) the rooms were so small.  However, the view of this community was just breathtaking.  The bright colors of the buildings against the rocks of the mountain and turquoise blue water. Simply amazing!

We only spent a few days in Cinque Terre, but I look forward to the day we go back with Tim and the kiddos.

Pisa

Everyone needs that touristy picture in Italy (holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa!) After Cinque Terre, we headed to Rome.  We had a few hours to stop in Pisa to get that fun picture!

Rome

Our last stop on this Italy adventure was Rome. The city of Rome is a lot more touristy. We still enjoyed the beauty and history of this city.  In Rome, I loved just sitting and sipping on coffee in the piazzas.

There is so much to enjoy in Italy.  We only hit a few of the amazing cities in this beautiful country.  There is so much more to explore.  We cannot wait until our next adventure with the whole family.  What is your favorite Italy picture?
