Which themed Disney Cruises are your favorites? Halloween on the High Seas? A Very Merrytime Christmas Cruise? What about the latest Marvel and Star Wars cruises? Well, we went on back to back themed Disney Cruises – Star Wars Day at Sea followed by a Marvel Day at Sea Disney Cruise.

We’ve boarded over 25 Disney Cruises (be sure to check out our 105 Disney Cruise tips and tricks); many of which included the classic themed Disney Cruises: Halloween and Christmas. We felt it was time for the Star Wars and Marvel Disney Cruises.
Which Themed Disney Cruise is Better? Marvel or Star Wars?
Let’s start off with a comparison of the two. Which themed Disney Cruise is right for you? Marvel or Star Wars?
Themed Disney Cruises: Star Wars Day at Sea
Now, let’s take a look at the Star Wars Day at Sea themed Disney Cruise. This was the first of the back-to-back Disney Cruises that we took. Unlike the Halloween or Christmas cruises, the Star Wars and Marvel cruises only have one themed day for the entire cruise. So, let’s start with our video from that one day.
As you can see, there were a TON of activities during the Star Wars Day at Sea on the Disney Cruise! We had a great time! Some aspects of this cruise, though, included the night time Star Wars show. It just seemed kind of thrown together. Not much of a storyline and really just a parade of characters. Especially after seeing the Marvel cruise show, we felt a bit let down by this show. Character interactions, though, were AMAZING!

Themed Disney Cruises: Marvel Day at Sea
The Marvel Day at Sea cruise blew the Star Wars cruise out of the water (pun intended). Amazing character interactions — even better than the Star Wars interactions. Awesome show. Great theming. Just all around great themed cruise!
Again, just one day of official Marvel theming. Check it out.
We did have a few issues with getting to see characters. The lines, even with reservations, were ridiculously long. Some of this was due to this cruise being on the smaller Disney Magic, instead of the Disney Fantasy, but some was just poor management of the character meet-and-greets. Even the cruise management admitted as much to us. Once we did get to the characters, though, the interactions were better than any character meet we’ve ever experienced.
The night time show, as well, blew us away! Great storyline and the effects were off the charts! Check out the rest of our Marvel Day at Sea cruise videos.
The themed Disney Cruises provide excellent entertainment value for your cruise vacation. Whether you book a holiday cruise that’s themed throughout the cruise or a “day at sea” cruise, you’re in for an amazing experience. Are you ready to book your own themed Disney Cruise?
