Disney is taking the augmented reality app technology that they used for the Frozen events and Star Wars Weekends and expanding it’s use for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) with the Mayhem at the Mansion app. We were fortunate enough to be the featured family for the app! You will see us in the tutorial portion of the Mayhem at the Mansion app, but we are apparently also featured in the video promoting the app!
This was our first “featured” acting opportunity and we are SUPER excited now that it’s come out to the public!
The Mayhem at the Mansion app can be downloaded on iOS and/or Android devices. You can learn more at http://DisneyMansionMayhem.com
It gives users the chance to find and capture some happy haunts that have escaped the Haunted Mansion for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. By downloading the free app for both iOS and Android devices, guests will then be equipped to use their ‘spectre collector’ by locating mischievous ghosts around the theme park (as indicated on the party’s map), snap and share a photo with themselves and family and friends with the ghosts and collect them, eventually returning them back to the Haunted Mansion.
UPDATE: We attempted to use the Mayhem at the Mansion app at the first night of MNSSHP only to find out that it was not available or working. We stopped by guest services on our way out of the park and were informed that it was scheduled to be operational on Sept. 9. Hoping to see it in action, this week, we discovered that not only is it not functional, the website mentioned above has been redirected to the regular MNSSHP page. Our sources have no update on the release date or if there even will be a release date for Mayhem at the Mansion.
