Growing up in Orlando, I have seen a lot of space shuttle and rocket launches. It is amazing to see the glow of the rocket and feel the ground shake under your feet. It is the epic experience during an Orlando vacation.
Where to Watch an Orlando Rocket Launch
Kennedy Space Center
If you live in Orlando or are visiting to Orlando, watch for a rocket launch at Kennedy Space Center. This is one of our family’s favorite activities. You can even pay for a ticket at Kennedy Space Center for a special viewing area to rocket launches. It is amazing!

If you are looking for an activity to keep the family busy until the launch, spend some time at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. This is the only place in the world where you can walk under the largest rocket ever flown, touch an actual moon rock, meet a veteran NASA astronaut, experience the International Space Station and stand nose-to-nose with Atlantis – all in the same day.
Kennedy Space Center truly is an incredible experience for the whole family.
Port Canaveral
You do not have to pay for Kennedy Space Center to get an EPIC view of a rocket launch. You can drive over to Port Canaveral area. Directly across from the Banana River is the launch pad. You have a perfect view, for no additional cost.
Cocoa Beach
Another incredible spot to watch an Orlando rocket launch is on the beach in Cocoa Beach. This beach is one of the closest beaches to Cape Canaveral without having a permit. You can enjoy the beach with the family while you wait for the rocket launch.
