Starwood dubs the Aloft a “hip hotel” describing them as “A new destination sensation with loft-inspired design features, accessible state-of-the-art technology and a stylish urban attitude.” We definitely felt that during our stay in the Houston Aloft.

Entering the hotel from the garage, we are greeted with the familiar Starwood signature scent and a check-in circular desk with the bar in the background. With our kids, we felt a bit out of place, but they found their way to the TV in the lobby and seemed fine.

Aloft combines office and technology components with their rooms that provided a good combination for our working vacation. Lots of charging locations for our electronics, two desks for both parents to work, and comfortable beds.

The bathroom was a bit interesting. Very modern and a sliding door for the toilet and shower area without a lock. This can produce interesting encounters when traveling with small children.

Aloft hotels provide free wi-fi to guests, which is a wonderful benefit for traveling and working techies like us. The Aloft Houston by the Galleria, as the name suggests, has a great location near the Galleria in Houston. Lots of food and shopping options surround the Aloft Houston within walking distance.
Parking for the Aloft Houston was a connected garage where you could self-park for $14 per day or $21 per day for valet. We chose to self-park and it was most definitely the right choice. Aloft Houston has an elevator that you can access from the garage with your room key that will take you directly to your room without going through the lobby. We were able to park right across from the elevator and found this option very convenient.
We enjoyed our stay at Aloft Houston by the Galleria and would definitely return.
