The first night of our month long road trip was spent in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Sheraton New Orleans. Within walking distance of the French Quarter, the Sheraton New Orleans sits in the heart of the fun in New Orleans providing a great view of downtown New Orleans.

This also means you’ll be experiencing some of that fun, whether you want to or not. We had a “domestic dispute” occur in the room next to ours at about 4AM. Sheraton staff was very quick to remedy the situation, as I’m sure this wasn’t their first experience with this type of guest.
One warning for the traveler: the Sheraton New Orleans requires you to use the valet parking service, only because there’s almost no parking available in downtown New Orleans. During our stay, the valet service cost $32, plus tip.
Additionally, the Sheraton New Orleans was undergoing some remodeling during our stay, but only the lobby area was affected. This did affect how you walk around New Orleans and get back to the hotel. Some of the access doors to the lobby were closed, requiring us to walk around to the single open entrance.
The Sheraton charged us twice for wi-fi, but was quick to remove the second charge. There was a charge for daily wi-fi access, though, unless you’re a Gold SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) member.
The Sheraton New Orleans provided a great start to our road trip and set us off on the right foot!
