I know everyone has been waiting a really really long time for the Rivers of Light to start at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.  Last night was finally opening night for Rivers of Light.  We were lucky enough to be one of the 1st people to actually see Rivers of Light (a week ago.)  You can watch the livestream of this event or an HD version of Rivers of Light.  During that event, we got to meet some of the Imagineers who created the show.  We wanted to share some of the insider tips we learned during the new Rivers of Light.

Watch for the Animal Shadows

Be sure you pay attention to the back of the theater during the pre-show.  There is a treeline in the back of the theater.  During the pre-show, you will see shadow animals along this treeline.  You may see an elephant walk across or an eagle soar.  This is a really cool effect that is easy to miss.  Be sure you watch the trees!

Animals in the Mist

Part of the show includes a huge mist of water with animals projected on the screen.  This is similar to The Jungle Book Show and World of Color at California Adventure.  In the Rivers of Light, these animal pictures are taken right from the Disneynature films.  The Imagineers were excited to share this little Easter Egg!

Watch for the Tree of Life

In the distance, you will see the Tree of Life.  Many may miss this, but watch for it.  The Tree of Life is even part of the show.  You will see at light up at the very end.  There are so many things happening in the Rivers of Light show, so watch for the Tree of Life at the very end.

Best Seating for the Show

The theater is a big U shape.  Since it is a theater, almost all of the seating is fantastic.  However, if you are looking for the best seating, sit in the section on the right (closest to Expedition Everest.)  This way you have a better view of the animal shadows and Tree of Life.

Guaranteed Seating with the New Dining Package

Disney recently released a new Dining Package for Rivers of Light.  Similar to The Jungle Book and Fantasmic! Package, you can dine at either Tiffins or Tusker House.  After you meal, you will receive a voucher for a guaranteed seat at Rivers of Light.  This is a freebie, when you dine with this package.  Be sure you book the Rivers of Light Dining Package.  You can book with your travel agent or call 407-WDW-DINE.

What do you think of the new Rivers of Light?
