This may sound funny, but as a Florida family we love snow! Once a year, we head up North to spend time in the fluffy soft snow. This year, we went to the #1 ski resort on the East Coast called Smugglers Notch. This was a family resort and perfect for our winter getaway.
Once we arrived to Smugglers Notch, we fell in love. They use the saying at the resort, #smuggslove. I can see why! Once you visit, you will never want to leave. You will fall in love with this destination.

One of the first activities we did at Smugglers Notch was actually my favorite. The whole family geared up for a Snowshoe Survival Tour. This was the first time our kids got to snowshoe, so that was an adventure.
We headed out into -20 degrees in the pristine snow. It was so beautiful and peaceful. As we walked, you could hear the crunch of the snow below our feet. That is the only sound you heard.
During our Snowshoe Survival Tour, we learned how to build a fire in the snow and even made a cup of tea. For our outdoor kids, this was epic!

We had so much snow during our getaway in Vermont. This is one of my favorite pictures with the snow and the shadows of the trees. There are so many areas of Smugglers Notch that is secluded. It is just you, your family, and the beauty.

If you want some thrills, Smugglers Notch is a family resort with tons of activities for the whole family. During our trip, the kids both took a Kid Camp. They spent the whole day with other kids (their age). Since we homeschool our kids, we love any opportunity for the kids to hang out with other kids.
This also gave mommy the opportunity to take a Women’s Snowboarding Camp. She learned how to snowboard, made new friends, and even got a celebratory drink at the end.

There are so many things to do at Smugglers Notch over the winter months. Even with all of the activities, the kids just loved to play in the snow. You could always see them with a snowball in their hand. They just loved the fresh snow!

One of the highlights of our winter vacation was the Canopy Trek with Arbor Trek. We got to zip line, cross a swinging bridge, and even rappel. This was the first time anyone in our family got to rappel. It was scary and incredible, all at the same time.
