The original plan for the day was to go back to the Everglades, but instead decided to head to Sombrero Beach Park in Marathon Florida. We brought the skateboards, skim suits, hammock, and food to have a nice picnic in the park.
Sombrero beach is a sandy beach and a beautiful park. The kids played in the park then they skateboarded down to the beach area. Tim found a nice spot to setup his hammock. Is there anything as relaxing as lounging in a hammock by the ocean?
Another cool thing about this place, it is a turtle nesting beach. From April through October you can spot Loggerhead Turtles coming onto the beach at night to lay their eggs. During active turtle nesting season human activities are limited in the vicinity of active turtle nest establishments. Turtle nest areas typically represents less than 10% of the available beach area, so there is plenty open for visitors and residents to enjoy.
Come swim and relax with us at Sombrero Beach in the video.
