One of the newest restaurants at Disney World is Space 220 at EPCOT. This restaurant is truly out of this world. Your adventure starts in EPCOT as you board the “Stellarvator”. You are then escorted into the Space 220 Restaurant. The view is incredible with floor to ceiling views of space. You may even see some of the Mission Space rockets, the Guardians of the Galaxy ship, or astronauts (even a dog astronaut).

7 Reasons Why I Love Space 220
Super Busy
I am starting off my list with a reason why I hate Space 220. Of course this has nothing to do with Disney, but this restaurant is super popular. The booking window for Disney Dining is limited. Once this restaurant became available for booking, it sold out within minutes. I know a lot of friends that were not able to get a reservation.
Just like many of the new things at Disney World, just wait it out. In a few months, this restaurant will not be the “what’s hot” at Disney World and you will have better luck getting a reservation.

Stellarvator
One of the first things I love about Space 220 is the Stellarvator. After you check in with the space host or hostess, you are escorted to the Stellarvator. This is a large room with a round circle hand bar in the middle of the room. You can stand along the hand bar to watch us “blast of” or really zoom into space. You can watch us leave EPCOT and Earth below and head into the space station above. Even the ground rumbles like you are moving. It is a really cool experience.
Space 220 Show
Not sure if you know, but I was a past Disney Cast Member. As a past Cast Member, I really appreciate the show. This is my next thing I love about Space 220. I love the show! As you exit the Stellarvator, you walk through a tunnel with a space garden.
I actually spent several minutes just watching the space garden turn. It was really cool. You are then escorted into the restaurant. That initial view into Space 220 is amazing! The restaurant itself is rather dark (maybe mood lighting) with a spectacular view of Earth from the windows.
Space 220 Seating
This brings me into my next “love it” at Space 220. I love the layout of the restaurant. You can sit at the bar or dining seating. The tables and chairs have a stadium type seating, so every spot is an incredible view of the huge windows out into space.

Food & Drinks
Once we are seated, we have a QR code to order our meal. I dined for lunch. Your meal comes with an appetizer and entree. Drinks and dessert are an extra cost. Our server recommended the Starry Calamari. It comes with two dipping sauces including spicy marinara and a red pepper citrus dipping sauce. Both were delicious. The portions was huge. This is definitely something that the whole family can share.
For my entree, I chose the Roasted Free Range Chicken. This came with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. I loved it all. Again the portion was huge, so I was not able to finish it all.
Of course, I had to get dessert and I got two of them. I got the Carrot Cake and the Chocolate Cheesecake. I love Carrot Cake, but it was lighter and more of a mousse. My favorite is the Chocolate Cheesecake. I loved the presentation and the taste. Delicious!
Price
The food was amazing, but this jumps into my next hate about Space 220. I hate the price. Of course, this is Disney Dining so I expect a higher price. The meal includes both an appetizer and entree, so that makes the price a bit better. However, the portions are huge and most families get an appetizer to share, not one for each person. For lunch, the cost is $55 per person.
Dinner is more expensive at $79 per person. The dinner includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The price is steep, but does include a lot of food so everyone can share a bit of everything.
When it comes to the price, I will come back to Space 220 with Tim and the kids. I want them to be able to experience it. However, Space 220 will not be a regular restaurant for the Jones Family.
Trading Cards
During my meal, I also tasted some of the Space 220 beverages. I tried the Atmospritz with cotton candy and the Moon Rocks with Pop Rocks. My favorite was the Moon Rocks. What I loved most about ordering drinks are the trading cards that come with them. I love that Disney created this experience with a restaurant. We love the trading card experiences at Disney World, so it is fun they have it at Space 200, too.
View
I have a love/hate relationship with the view at Space 220. When I initially walked in, it almost took my breath away. However, after 20 minutes dining at the restaurant – it kinda just turned boring. They do have occasional spacecrafts and astronauts that make an appearance but they are super fast. They are there and gone. I was watching for the space dog the entire visit, but only got a quick glance of him in the distance. Our server told us we could see some astronauts playing with lightsabers or the Guardians of the Galaxy ship, but I did not see them in my experience. I would have liked to see a bit more of these visual experiences.
Bathrooms
Jumping to my next love of Space 220. I love that Disney continued the story, even into the bathrooms. There are special signs on the door and even an announcement in the restroom. The announcement lets you know that the “facilities” are okay, even if the artificial gravity changes.
Continuing the Show
In addition, I love that Disney continues the show, after your meal. To get back to Earth and EPCOT, you need to catch the Stellarvator back down. The cast members continued the show giving facts and asking about our meal. It was truly a whole experience from the moment we checked in until we landed.
Booking Space 220 Restaurant
This restaurant is super popular, so Advanced Dining Reservations are required. Contact your travel agent or Disney Dining to book your Space 220 reservation.
