Top Things to Do at Disney World the 50th Video

We share the top things to do at Disney World for the 50th Anniversary Celebration. You can watch the video or scroll down for more details about this incredible special event.

Enchantment

Disney has several new shows for the Disney World 50th Anniversary. One of the most talked about shows is Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park. This show incorporates projections on Cinderella Castle and down Main Street USA. This show also includes a ton of fireworks around the castle. There is even a brand new song, just for this show called ‘You Are the Magic’. Your whole family will love Disney Enchantment.

Space 220

The next thing to make our list for the Disney World 50th celebration is Space 220. This is a new restaurant at Epcot. Space 220 takes you and your family to a space station via the Stellarvator. Once you arrive at the space station, you are escorted to the restaurant. Space 220 has a spectacular view of space outside the huge floor to ceiling windows.

You may even see Mission Space rockets, astronauts, or even an astronaut dog. The food is delicious and you have an out of this world view. This restaurant serves lunch and dinner. We recommend lunch. You get the same experience, but at a cheaper price tag. You can book a dining reservation for Space 220 on My Disney Experience.

Golden Statues

Our next top thing to do for the Disney World 50th Anniversary is the ultimate scavenger hunt. Disney created 50 golden statues of your favorite Disney Characters. They put these statues throughout Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Some of these statues may be on the ground, on a platform , or even in the trees. They are quite spectacular and are a perfect background for a family picture.

50th Anniversary Treats & Drinks

How about some 50th anniversary treats? Disney World added a ton of new sips and bites, just for this celebration. You will find new entrees, desserts, snacks, and beverages throughout Disney World hotels, Disney Parks, and Disney Springs. You can pull a full list of these 50th anniversary goodies on the My Disney Experience app.

Harmonious

Our next top thing to do for the Disney celebration is Harmonious at Epcot. Every night, Epcot comes alive with an incredible show. Harmonious is huge. This show features projections, dancing water, lights, and fireworks. It is spectacular!

You can get an excellent view anywhere along the World Showcase Lagoon. I love this evening show. It is a wonderful way to end your day at Epcot.

50th Anniversary Merchandise

The next top thing to make our list is the Disney World 50th Anniversary merchandise. This merchandise has been super popular. You can buy shirts, purses, Crocs, Mickey and Minnie Mouse plush, and even soap.

Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration

All of this merchandise is themed for the Disney World 50th Anniversary. You can find this merchandise throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. One of the most popular places to find this merch is the Emporium at Magic Kingdom.

I have a little tip about shopping at the Emporium. Be sure you do not wait until the end of the night (when the park closes) to go shopping. The lines get super long at the Emporium in the evening.

If you love the Disney World 50th merchandise, check out the eye in the sky for our giveaways. We are giving away a bunch of celebration merchandise from Disney World.

Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser

Do you have any Star Wars fans in your family? The next top thing to do for the Disney World 50th Anniversary is stay in the Star Wars Hotel. Starting on March 1, 2022 you can enjoy a 2-Day Star Wars Experience on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (aka the Star Wars Hotel). This adventure reminds me of a Disney Cruise, but focused on Star Wars. You will be fully immersed in the Star Wars experience from your rooms to meals to activities.

Click the eye in the sky if you are interested in booking the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. For a limited time, you will receive a free Disney Gift Card when you book with us.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Disney has a lot of new dining, shopping, and shows. Did you know they also have a new ride, too?

Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration

The newest ride at Disney World is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This family friendly ride is located at Epcot. Your family will shrink down to the size of Remy. This 4D experience will have you scurrying through Gusteau’s kitchen on an wild adventure. Your whole family will love this new ride.

Disney Genie+

One of the biggest changes to a Disney World vacation for the 50th anniversary is Disney Genie. This new experience will help you plan your time at the Disney Parks. The Disney Genie is free. You can also upgrade to the paid version called Disney Genie Plus.

The Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ will have you rethinking your whole vacation experience. You can click the eye in the sky to learn all about the new Disney Genie and Genie+.

Some Things to Skip for Disney World 50th Celebration

There is so much to love about the Disney World 50th Anniversary. However, there are a few things I would skip.

Beacons of Magic

The first one I would skip is the Beacons of Magic. All four Disney Parks have this mini show called Beacons of Magic. You will see the Beacons of Magic on Spaceship Earth, Cinderella Castle, Tree of Life, and Tower of Terror.

This is a projection show, played along to music. The shows are super fast. Literally you blink and it is done. This is a show you could just pop over to watch, but do not spend a lot of time waiting for it.

Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration

Out of all of the Beacons of Magic, my favorite is on Spaceship Earth. The globe is so beautiful with the colors and lights. If you want to watch any of these shows, be sure you watch it on Spaceship Earth.

Kite Tails

The next show that I would skip during the 50th celebration is called Kite Tails at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. This show is during the afternoon and includes kites and huge balloons pulled behind jet skis.

Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration

The show is cute, but not a must do. I would only recommend this show for families with preschoolers. The younger kids seem to love this show. However, I would skip it for everyone else.

Are you excited about the Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration?
