If you have ever visited Disney Caribbean Beach Resort, you know that it brings a tropical paradise right here to Central Florida at Disney World. It’s a place to relax and let life slow down to a leisurely pace while surrounded by lush tropical scenery.

Whether you have visited before or not, it’s time to head to Disney Caribbean Beach Resort because this resort has been through an incredible makeover over the past few years. It started with redesigned rooms, but the resort amenities are taking the spotlight at this time.
Now with a new port of entry and lobby to explore and enjoy, as well as three new food and beverage locations, the resort offers more ways than ever before for guests to embrace the island spirit of the Caribbean.

Reimagined Old Port Royale
The Old Port Royale complex has been reimagined as a new port of entry for Disney Caribbean Beach Resort. No longer is the lobby and check in separate from the guest amenities. It’s a centralized and convenient location for services, amenities and three new dining options.

Guests now arrive at Old Port Royale via an all-new porte-cochere, where they are welcomed into a colorfully reappointed lobby under an open-trussed roof and a colonnade with floor-to-ceiling drapes. The new lobby has an upscale feel, lots of light and plenty of open space to enjoy and gather with friends and family.
As with any Disney resort, friendly cast members are waiting in this open and communal environment to help guests check in to their rooms, answer questions, and offer advice to help them better enjoy their stays.
For those needing a rest, the lounge-style seating areas with handmade furnishings is not only comfortable, but it’s also very convenient – there are outlets and USB ports built into the seating, so you can recharge yourself and your devices!
The new Calypso Trading Post is nearby as well. It offers favorite Disney merchandise and everything you need for their vacation. We love shopping for Disney merchandise and especially love that they have resort-specific items here now!
Sebastian’s Bistro
As Sebastian would say, “life is the bubbles” at his new Caribbean-inspired table-service restaurant! Being there feels like you’ve stepped into a tropical beachfront home with the warm island hospitality and waterfront views. You can even get a great view of the new Skyliners.
Every detail celebrates the natural beauty of the region – from coral patterns and kelp filigree to lure-inspired art and nautical designs. We love the gentle blue colors and Sebastian’s cameos in the art, on the menu and more.

The tantalizing menu blends Latin and Caribbean flavors into bright, fresh tastes ranging from seafood and steak to salads, sandwiches and burgers. Highlights include a skirt steak “chimichurri,” sautéed shrimp and tamales, a crispy avocado-and-bacon burger and much more. Vegan options and island-inspired cocktails with Caribbean rums are also available. And, of course, you can finish your meal here with one of several decadent desserts.

Centertown Market (Quick Service)
This new quick-service eatery at Disney Caribbean Beach Resort is a fast-casual indoor island street market. You enter under a large, palapa-like structure modeled after a traditional Caribbean thatched roof and then stroll beneath glowing colored light pendants. The new menu here offers diverse choices of family-friendly fare.
Centertown Market specializes in customizable Latin- and Caribbean-inspired dishes; with made-to-order bowls where you choose a base, protein and sauce, available for both breakfast and dinner.
Centertown Market also features farm-to-table salads, Sicilian-style pizza and a variety of sandwiches and burgers. Those craving something sweet will find an assortment of custom tarts and other delectable treats.
There are some exciting new things here, too, like Pirate Mickey waffles and Coca-Cola freestyle machines! Draft beer and single-serve wine and cocktails are also available. And if you prefer to get moving, a grab-and-go market offers specialty coffee and quick bites.
We love the upgraded atmosphere and the creative, flavorful twists on menu items here.
Banana Cabana Pool Bar

It’s always “island time” at this festive pool-side bar at Old Port Royale. Dining here feels like relaxed Caribbean living. The décor is colorful and welcoming with pretty hanging lights, lots of patterns and comfy seats. We especially love the steel drums hanging from the ceiling and how it’s more of a destination than its predecessor.
Besides island appetizers like Conch Fritters, Jamaican Meat Pies, Grilled Jerk Chicken Wings, Banana Cabana also has exclusive cocktails with premium spirits. Check out the Pink Guava Colada with rum, guava purée, pineapple juice and cream of coconut. Kraken Punch mixes black spiced rum with blood orange sour and pomegranate and orange juices.
Caribbean beers are also available, along with a variety of craft and traditional beers, as well as premium white and red wines. Non-alcoholic specialty drinks feature fruit juices and tropical flavors, including the Tropical Paradise, which blends pineapple, coconut, cinnamon and lime, dusted with nutmeg.
We are impressed with the variety and uniqueness offered here. It’s certainly more than your typical resort pool bar!
Overall, these upgrades along with the renovated rooms put Disney Caribbean Beach Resort back on the top of our list of places to stay at Walt Disney World.
What do you think? Will you book a stay soon or perhaps visit to dine?
