Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is an amazing family resort, just outside Zion National Park in Utah. You can stay in a Cowboy Cabin, Conestoga Wagons, or Glamping at this ranch. Check out our review and experience at Zion Ponderosa.
During one of our family vacations to Zion National Park, we had the opportunity to stay in a Conestoga Wagons. We always love staying in unique accommodations. We have stayed in a castle, glamping, teepee, treehouse, and train. We were excited to add Conestoga Wagons to our list.

Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort
Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is truly a unique family destination with a spectacular mountain view. We also loved all of the resort activities. They have a ton of family activities. Before we jump into the resort activities, let’s talk about the accommodations. The accommodations are what initially attracted our family to this resort. They have so many fun places to stay.
Accommodations
Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort features a wide variety of accommodations, including vacation homes, RV sites, and tent camping. They also have a lot of the fun accommodations like Cowboy Cabins, Glamping, and Conestoga Wagons.
Cabin Suites
The Cabin Suites are similar to vacation rentals. Each cabin is a private cabin. They sleep up to 6 people. The suites offer a bedroom with a queen bed, bunk beds, and a living room with a sofa bed.
They also have a mini-kitchenette with microwave and mini-refrigerator. If you want to enjoy the outdoors, you can use the outdoor grill or sit on the covered front porch. The Cabin Suites also have a bathroom with shower.
Cowboy Cabins
We love the cute Cowboy Cabins at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. These cabins are a bit more rustic. These cabins sleep up to 6 people.

The Cowboy Cabins also have a front porch, picnic table, and grill for outdoor entertaining. They do not have a bathroom. You walk to a community bath house.
Glamping
Have you ever tried glamping? It is like camping, but a little more luxurious! Your experience includes a glamping tent with couch, bed, and even electricity.

You can still enjoy a campfire and roast marshmallows. When you are ready for bed, you can enjoy the comforts of home. It is the best of camping . . . glamping!
Conestoga Wagons
During our last visit we stayed in a Conestoga Wagon. The wagon is a little snug. There is a King bed in the back with two bunkbeds on either side. There is a narrow aisle to get from the entrance to the bed in the bad. For a family of four, it is a little tight. However, it is a wagon so it is super cool!

There is also a picnic table and grill. We enjoyed an evening campfire under the stars. Just like the Cowboy Cabins and Glamping, you do not have a bathroom. You walk to a community bath house. The shower and laundry facilities were about the best we experienced in any campground.
All of the accommodations have access to washer/dryers and free wifi. You will get the wifi details at the front desk at check in.

You are at a ranch, so why not try a western Chuckwagon Dinner. On select nights over the summer, you can make a reservation for a Chuckwagon Dinner.
You will hop in a wagon and enjoy a ride to your dinner. You will then enjoy dinner while entertained with music. It is fun for the whole family!
Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort has a restaurant called Ray’s Restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. There is also a Poolside Grill and Narrows Coffee Bar.
The Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is open seasonally. It opens mid-March-Thanksgiving. The summer months are the busiest months, so more resort activities are available during those months. Be sure you call the resort to double check the activities schedule during your vacation dates.
We love to travel to destinations that are off the beaten path. Visiting Zion National Park and Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort was truly a unique family experience.
